Yes, they're here ^_^ and of course I couldn't help checking them at least two more times today and edit some stuff XD
First off, thank you for all the comments and feedback (^^) I didn't think the sub would become so widespread O__O
On to business:
Sorry for the typos in the first episode subs. I'll try and be more careful in the future.
Sorry for doing .ass subs only. This time I also made a VLC-compatible .srt file.
>express yourself:
As I mentioned before, this is my first time subbing for non-personal use. Suggestions and constructive criticism are very much welcome. If there is something, anything, you don't like about any part of the subs, please express yourself -preferably somewhere I can easily read. This journal for example would be a great place (^^)
Please keep in mind that neither English nor Japanese is my first language (or second, or third for that matter XD), so, as much as I love perfect work and detest flaws, I figure there's bound to be some mistakes. I hope you can be patient with me (^^;;)
>sharing:
I don't mind people sharing links on blogs/journals or forums, but it would be nice if you dropped a line ne (^^) Thank you to all who asked about reposting.
If you want to share, please do it by linking to this post/journal directly, so people can also read all the details (there is a reason I write all that stuff).
>mirrors:
Please DO NOT upload the softsubs to other hosts. I'd rather not have mirrors. If for some reason you need to, please leave a comment explaining your situation.
>hardsubs:
Please DO NOT use these subs to make hardsubs that you'll later distribute or upload to streaming sites. If it's for personal use I don't mind.
>editing:
If you plan on editing my subs, please do so for personal use ONLY -I can understand how annoying seeing errors can be while watching a drama. But please do not diffuse them as your own work (or mine, 'cause they wouldn't be anymore.. not entirely).
If editing, even if for personal use only, please DO NOT remove credits. Isn't it nice to remember where you got those in the first place? (^^)
I feel like a real party pooper with all these things I've written, just.. I thought it was common sense, but maybe not (^^;)
Subs released - file types:
-, .SRT: mainly for VLC users. Keep in mind it has no styling or text positioning whatsoever. I highly recommend the .ass subs though; they're just.. nicer to see (^_^)
-, .ASS: this includes styling and text positioning (and other effects if I feel like it). I've only tried this with Windows Media Player 11, Media Player Classic, and Zoomplayer (CCCP), and works perfectly with them.
chaitanyadevana tells me .ass works fine with GOM too.
All videos are timed using the 704x396 video uploaded on DA.
Don't forget to give your subs file the same name as the video (except for the extension).
Now that all that is out of the way:

EDIT 2008.04.23: timing to HQ video
daikiinoue found a way to automatically time the subs to the HQ video (1280x720)
--------------------
I've "mechanicaly" timed the softsubs EP2 for 720p RAW so it's in sync now. By countless try I've managed to discover that changing timing from 29.984 FPS to 30 FPS will work.
Here is the DIFF file to patch original
http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/1 2/11/497871/misc/Ueno%20Juri/LastFriends-E P02-720p-ASS.diff
Under Linux one need to do in terminal:
CODE:
After that "new-patched.ass" will be timed one.
Windows user must install copy of win32 patch executable:
http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/package s/patch.htm
http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/ins tall.html
or... manually copy&paste timing lines from diff to ASS file
--------------------
Thank you (^^)
If you download the .SRT, for some reason the last line for next episode's preview doesn't show, can't understand why. Anyway, if you absolutely gotta know, just open the .SRT with notepad and hit Ctrl-end ^_^
One last thing -been wanting to say this for a while actually; if you want to friend me I don't mind, but leaving a comment would be nice (^^) (I find it kind of creepy to have someone come up to me and tell me they're my friend when I've never even spoken to them ^^;) Please understand I don't friend back right away.
Hope I didn't bore you with all that.
Have fun (^^)

Oh yeah, I lied about the non-presence of useless content in this post XD
Just a few comments, no spoilers promise:
-, the opening theme gives me goosebumps every time I see it.
-, first exposure was through vision in order to do translations; it was creepy. Second exposure was through hearing for timing; it was even creepier and gave me super chills.
-, Sosuke's expressions get creepier.. a smile is even creepier than a stabbing stare.
-, Sosuke's facial expression in the end.. for some reason, every time I see that I can't help but smile. Why? 'cause of what he's saying! XD makes me wanna laugh, but I contain myself XD
-, Eita-kun has a few genius moments in acting. I really like him ^_^
-, ditto for Juri-chan. But Ruka had a coupla meh moments. She's a cool person. I don't like clichés with cool persons XD
-, I LOVE RYO-CHAN's HANDS! and Eita-kun's too. Yeah I have this strange fetish of hands XD
-, Only scene in which I didn't like Masami-chan's acting: in the kitchen!
-, Ogura-san is so funny. He sounds like a broken tape XD
OK enough with the comments XD I think I've watched this episode at least 5 times in 3 days XD
btw, the entry subject.. it's Italian. Something about horses, gifts, and mouths. It's not random ^_^
There is no useless ranting in this post, so please read everything
